Cordaid is looking for the Corporate Communication department for a
Communication advisor
The Corporate Communications Department is responsible for the image and visibility of Cordaid and the communication with stakeholders. They build (online) communities around issues of poverty. They maintain the Cordaid media, the press office, the corporate lobby and internal communication.
Your tasks
As a communication advisor you are a project manager and communications expert. You develop communication plans and strategy for different business units, the Corporate Strategy unit, the Board of Directors and the country offices. You make themes within programs visible on a national and international level and you advise colleagues in relation to message, communication objectives, target groups and house style. You make the connection with the various communication disciplines such as web editors, press office and lobby. You lead communication projects and you report to clients while fine tuning your projects with your colleagues from the Corporate Communications department.
Your profile
Masters in Communications or related field with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience preferably in a large international organization/global player.
Strong communications background with a successful track record and experience in external affairs and B2B communication.
Significant relevant experience in communications planning, project- and account management with an ability to segment messages for diverse audiences.
Relevant experience working with communication agencies and production houses.
Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into multi-channel strategies and plans including social media.
You have a natural talent for writing/editing/messaging.
You are able to manage projects and the needs of different audiences. You have experience in a senior position in complex organizations and have strong advisory skills.
Ability to secure the trust of senior leaders and team members, credible influencer.
Self-starter showing high degree of personal initiative, drive, and desire to come up with new business targeted creative solutions.
Proven skills to deliver under time pressure.
Excellent and proven English speaking and writing skills on a professional level.
Experience in development cooperation is an advantage.
