VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT 
On behalf of The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill 5 vacant posts in the above Public Institution. 
NB: GENERAL CONDITIONS 
i. All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and not above 45 years old, however, applicants for senior positions who are above 45 years old and are currently employed in the public service should route their application letters through their respective employers.

1.0 TANZANIA INVESTMENT CENTRE 

The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) is the Primary Agency of the Government established in 1997 by an Act of Parliament No. 26, with the mandate to coordinate, encourage, promote and facilitate investment in Tanzania 

1.1 SENIOR INVESTMENT PROMOTION/FACILITATION OFFICER -1 POST. 

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Prepare outward and inward business mission 
• Promote Tanzania's local projects and investment opportunities in various international and local exhibitions 
• Participate in international and local investment forums and workshop 
• Prepare bankable projects profiles of Tanzanians seeking various forms of collaboration with foreign companies 
• Conduct district investment and entrepreneurship seminars in order to encourage Tanzanians to register their investment projects with tic, so that they enjoy investment incentives 
• Prepare regional investment forums in cooperation with regional leadership in order to promote investment opportunities available in the regions 
• Compile information and prepare various promotional materials such as brochures, booklets etc to be used in different investment promotion activities in Tanzania and abroad 
• Collect information from government mda's and disseminate to potential investors 
• Create a data base of local companies/projects seeking various forms of collaboration from abroad (such as jv, market access, technology transfer, buy back arrangement etc) 
• Prepare departmental reports and board papers 
• Provide information on investment climate and opportunities in Tanzania to local and foreigninvestors 
• Respond potential investors enquires by email, phone and to those who visit physically 
• Prepare and make presentations on Tanzania investment climate and opportunities in various forums 
• Manage business delegation and facilitate their appointments with various government ministries and institutions 
• Target investor in specific sectors to be assigned by the director of investment promotion 

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 
• Bachelor Degree in either in Economics, Statistics, Marketing or Business Administration from recognized institution. 
• A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. 
• Minimum of three (3) years working experience in relevant field. 

1.1.3 REMUNERATION. 
• Remuneration package in accordance with the institution`s salary scale TIC GS.10/11

1.2 PROCUREMENT OFFICER – 1 POST 
1.1.4 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Maintain details of warehouse records and equipment 
• Liaise with user departments on stores requirements 
• Plan and execute an efficient procurement and supplies management system 
• Prepare and recommend future requirements for storage equipment, buildings, yards and layout 
• Assist the Principal supplies Officer in administering the stores section 
• Ensure appropriate stores records on purchases and issues are maintained 
• Prepare tender documents according to specification and procedure with the view to availing the public with the right needs/requirement of the centre 
• Ensures reconciliation of all store records with accounts for audit purposes; 
• Advises on matters related to purchasing, supplies and store; 
• Prepare progress and final reports on the status of the section 
• Perform any other duties assigned by Senior Staff 

1.1.5 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 
• Bachelor Degree in Procurement/Supplies or Material management or equivalent standards for recognized higher learning institutions with CSP. 
• A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. 
• Minimum of three years working experience in relevant field 

1.1.6 REMUNERATION. 
• Remuneration package in accordance with the institution`s salary scale TIC GS.9/10

1.3 ACCOUNTANT I – 1 POST 
1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Ensure that all accounting documents are properly filled 
• Control and preparation of accounts up to Trial balance 
• Prepare invoices from bills 
• Prepare monthly pay slips for each employee and keeping records and pay-roll register 
• Remit net salaries to the employees' respective banks 
• Maintain the employees ledge for staff advances, loans and duty travel imprests 
• Follow up on outstanding amounts 
• Maintain registers for debtors accurately and up-to –date 
• Be responsible for banking or all cheques coming into the Centre 
• Perform any other duties assigned by finance and Accounts Manager 

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE. 
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting. 
• CPA holder or equivalent standards and must be registered with NBAA. 
• A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. 
• Minimum of three years working experience in relevant field. 

1.1.3 REMUNERATION. 
• Remuneration package in accordance with the institution`s salary scale TIC GS.9/10

1.4 PERSONAL SECRETARY GRADE II – 1 POST 
1.1.4 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Types both open and confidential letters/matters 
• Maintains a diary of appointment for the executive, advising him of available time and reminding him/her of appointments as requested 
• Receives all visitors with courtesy and decorum, ascertain the nature of the visitor's business and relays information to the officer 
• Answers telephone calls and intercom, giving information to callers or routing callers to appropriate officials 
• Files minutes correspondence and other documents 
• Assumes responsibility for ensuring that there is adequate efficiency in day to day operation of office functions e.g. supply of stationery, cleanliness, decorum, dispatch and receipt of mail, messenger services and other related functions 
• Draft letters of simple routine nature 
• Attends to routine safari arrangements as requested. Makes and confirms transport and hotel booking for the executives 
• Relays oral messages and instructions from executives to his subordinates 
• Co-ordinates all office needs and requirements 
• Takes proper care of facilities, equipment and documents 
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by superiors 

1.1.5 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 
• Advanced Secondary School Certificate and Certificate in Secretarial Duties from recognized Institution. 
• A Diploma in Secretarial qualification will be an added advantage. 
• A minimum of three years working experience in relevant field. 

1.1.6 REMUNERATION. 
• Remuneration package in accordance with the institution`s salary scale TIC GS.6

1.5 TELEPHONE OPERATOR GRADE II 
1.1.7 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Maintenance and up-keeping of Switchboard 
• Receives in-coming telephone calls and relays them to officers concerned 
• Makes internal and international calls as and when required by authorized officers 
• Makes regular request for maintenance and repair of switchboard 
• Records in telephone register all official and private calls and submit them to the office supervisor 

1.1.8 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 
• Certificate of Secondary Education with a one year Certificate in telephone operation or advanced passes with a certificate in telephone operation or front desk/reception administration form recognized institutions. 
• At least three years relevant work experience in similar position.

• Remuneration package in accordance with the institution`s salary scale TIC GS.5

INTRODUCTION


The Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) is a quasi independent Government body responsible for regulating the Communications and Broadcasting sectors in Tanzania. It was established under the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Act No.12 of 2003 to regulate the electronic communications, and Postal services, and management of the national frequency spectrum in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Authority became operational on 1st November 2003 and effectively took over the functions of the now defunct Tanzania Communications Commission (TTC) and Tanzania Broadcasting Commission (TBC) respectively.
