Your challenge
dance4life aims to significantly diversify its funding base in the coming years. You are responsible to connect to new institutional donors and foundations, primarily outside the US. Your target will be to ultimately raise Euro 1 million annually for dance4life. In the first year a special focus will be to secure funds for a large regional programme in Southern Africa.
Together with our fundraiser for the US market and fundraiser for in country fundraising you are the programmatic fundraise team of the programmes department. You will report directly to the director of programmes. You will work closely together with the regional programme managers and colleagues in the areas of advocacy, marketing and fundraising.
Your role
  • Develop an overallfundraising strategy for institutional donors and foundations
  • In cooperation with the director of programmes strengthen relationships with programme partners and relevant donors and ensure effective follow-up on agreements made with these parties
  • Build up and maintain relevant networks and partnerships that will lead to programme funding
  • Identify opportunities and develop programmes together with our regional programme managers (and relevant partners) and find matching donors for these programmes
  • Write and submit sound and convincing proposals that meet donor requirements

Your profile
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in relevant fields of fundraising, with a proven track record on successful fundraising
  • You have good contacts with relevant institutional donors and foundations
  • You are a strategic thinker and can develop convincing cases for specific donors
  • You have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • You are a flexible team player with a positive and motivating attitude
  • You support and believe in the work of dance4life and our target group (10 - 24)
  • You are able to travel internationally frequently
  • You have a relevant university or college degree
  • You have affinity with HIV and AIDS and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, development cooperation and international relations

What we offer
In our office in the heart of Amsterdam we offer you a vibrant and challenging working environment. You will be part of a team of approx. 25 mostly young professionals. The vacancy is for 32 hours a week (0.8 FTE). Depending on your professional background and track record, the monthly salary will be between 3.298 and 3.960 euros for a 40-hours work week.
