The Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) was established as a Corporate Body under the Act of Parliament No. 8 of 1980 as a Higher Learning Institute for providing Training, Research and Consultancy services in the fields of Rural Development Planning.

5.1 INTERNAL AUDITOR II – 1 POST
5.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Control and preparation of accounts up to Trial Balance.

Execute Audit programmes regarding payment of imprests, bank reconciliation, ordering and payment for local goods and services;

Assists in review of measures for safeguarding assets and inventories;

Participate in stock tacking of the Institute Assets;

Review Auditor working papers;

Prepare and advise on Audit guidelines to be used by the Institute.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

5.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•  Bachelor degree in Accounting with CPA (T), ACCA or equivalent with at least three

(3) years working experience and registered graduate Auditor.

5.4 REMUNERATION
Salary Scales:  PGSS 10

5.5 ASSISTANT DEAN OF STUDENT III- 3 POSTS
5.6 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Dean of Students in Students' counseling and guidance in his/her respective Hall of residence.

Coordinate students' culture, recreational and sports activities in his/her Hall of resident.

Take care of students' welfare and ensure that the sick are urgently treated and taken care of satisfactorily.

Perform any other duties prescribed by the Dean of Students

5.7 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree either in Education, Social Welfare, Social Work or community Development.

5.8 REMUNERATION
Salary Scales:  PGSS 10

5.9 ACCOUNTANT II – 3 POSTS
5.10 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare monthly payroll;

Prepare journal voucher after preparation of payroll;

Initiate payment vouchers for employee salaries;

Prepare compulsory remittances to various authority;

Liase with ppf, pspf and others in respect of employees pension;

Ensure recovery of advances and imprest;

Prepare salary advances, mid month advances etc;

Prepare general ledger;

Extract trial balance;

Prepare monthly reports of income and expenditure in comparison to budget;

Prepare correction of errors in journal entries;

5.11 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor Degree in Accountancy from a recognized Institution.

5.12 REMUNERATION

Salary Scales: PGSS 10

5.13 PLANNING OFFICER II – 1 POST
5.14 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect information and data on implementation of Institutes objectives;

Collect and analyse data for the formulation of plans;

Collect statistics and various economic information for analysis and preparation of institute social economic projects;

Prepare activity profile of the Institute for planning purposes;

Carry out research on the performance of institute economic project for management decision making;

Prepare work plan for the Department;

Perform any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.

5.15 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma either in Development Planning (Regional Planning, Population and Development Planning, Investment and Environment Planning), Economics, Statistics or Project Planning and Management from a recognized University/Institute.

5.16 REMUNERATION

5.17 PERSONAL SECRETARY III – 4 POSTS

5.18 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CO-ordinate all office needs and requirements;

Receive and direct visitors;

Keep minutes/records of meetings;

Arrange and attend meeting where necessary and write minutes;

Handle travel arrangement on duty for seniors and other members of the unit/department.

Ensure that copies of letters are filed in relevant files.

Type confidential letters, minutes, circulars, certificates, charts and stencils, coordinate and supervise typists in the unit.

5.19 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Form IV/VI with passes in English and Kiswahili and holder of full secretarial certificate from (TPSC) or any college recognized by the Government, plus 100/120 w.p.m. short hand in English or Kiswahili, 80 w.p.m typing speed, and who have passed tabulation and manuscript Stage III, Secretarial and office procedure Stage II and has completed a basic computer course, with application of basic computer programmes. E.g. Windows, Microsoft office, Microsoft Excel, Internet, Email and Publisher.

Holder of form IV certificate with Trade Test II certificate in relevant field from recognized Institution.

5.25 ARTISAN II (ELECTRICITY) - 2 POSTS

5.42 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive mail from different various places

Register all incoming mails

File incoming mails, filing indexing, housing files, maintaining a diary and recording files

Distribute files to scheduled officers

Handle registration of mails, filing, indexing housing files, maintaining a diary and recording files

Ensure correct distribution of files to scheduled officers for action

Sort, address and dispatch letters/documents

5.43 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holder form IV Examination Certificate with Certificate in Records Management from government recognized Institution plus computer skills

5.44 REMUNERATION

Salary Scales:  PGSS 6

5.45 ASSISTANT HARDWARE/SOFTWARE TECHNICIAN II– 1 POST

5.46 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that all faults and problems are quickly rectified and various protection system is adhered to;
Ensure that internet access is available and ensure that all staff can access to the internet is timely and appropriate;

Ensure and monitor the fault reporting systems to ensure service delivery meet user demands, both internally and externally, taking remedial action as appropriate;

Develop and maintain the ict equipment register, to provide a detailed analysis of equipment replacement needs and central ICT resourcing.

5.47 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Holders of an Ordinary Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Technology from a recognized Institution with three (3) years working experience.

5.48 REMUNERATION

Salary Scales:  PGSS 6
