Internship Public Affairs Assistant
Join Fur Europe as part of the Public Affairs team in Brussels.
Fur Europe represents the full fur value chain from farm to fashion. In 2014 the organisation was founded by EFBA (European Fur Breeders' Association) and IFF (International Fur Federation). It represents members in 24 of EUs Member States plus members from Norway, Iceland and Switzerland.
The key aim is to deepen awareness and knowledge about the fur sector and provide information and facts to European stakeholders. Fur Europe works proactively to influence the agenda and to build up a strong network among key stakeholders both in EU Member States and in Brussels. Fur Europe's values are openness, transparency and reliability.
As intern you will be offered a job with lots of variety and interesting assignments. You will be part of a young a dynamic team that works in a focused and innovative manner.
You will work under the supervision of the Head of Public Affairs who is also the tutor responsible for the internship.
The main topics where the intern is involved are the following:
  • Day-to-day monitoring of the relevant committees in the European Parliament (AGRI, ENVI, IMCO, INTA)
  • Drafting of communications to members on political issues
  • Setting up meetings with relevant stakeholders
  • Developing policy papers and positions on different topics
  • Attending relevant events or conferences and report to Fur Europe members
  • Mapping of stakeholders and give input to the roadmap of Fur Europe
  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of Fur Europe Events
Requirements:
  • University degree (or close to finish a University degree)
  • Languages: English, French an advantage
  • Experience from a political party or organization is considered to be an asset
  • Ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • High motivation and strong interest for working with topics ranging from animal welfare to fashion, innovation and trade.
Internship period: 2nd of March 2015 – 17th of July 2015. The working hours are 40 per week. The internship is paid.
