CVD Process Engineer
Sandvik Machining Solutions, a world leader in tools and tooling systems for metal cutting, as well as components and high-volume blanks in cemented carbide, has an opening for aCVD Process Engineerat their Westminster facility in South Carolina.

Key performance areas

Define and achieve the agreed targets with the Production Manager for responsible processes
  1. Collect and review data to assess the adequacy of existing processes and equipment
  2. Lead the upkeep of such equipment to maintain a high quality of product
  3. Lead team training and personal development programs
  4. Assume quality and environmental responsibility, including risk assessment for the health and safety of the company, community, and environment
  5. Lead implementation of new technologies, processes, and products
  6. Manage installing and commissioning of new production equipment
  7. Reduce production costs through developing maintenance and work methods that improve process efficiency and reliability
  8. Work closely in hand with other departments and/or outside vendors to ensure quality of raw materials, performance of maintenance, and delivery accuracy at the lowest cost
  9. Diagnose and troubleshoot process problems, having the responsibility to make decisions regarding production challenges
  10. Communicate and collaborate well, both within the process team and with cross-functional teams
  11. Maintain and act as a resource for control system technology utilized
  12. Manage subsidiary departmental programs, including PM, housekeeping, and spare part inventory
  13. Support and encourage a highly motivated production team

Your profile

  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
  2. Manufacturing experience and some experience with CVD/PVD coating processes preferable
  3. Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, project management, multi-tasking, leadership and analytical skills
  4. Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently
  5. Enthusiastic, motivated, team player with integrity and initiative
  6. Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001 and OHSAS 18002
  7. Strong Microsoft Office skills, capable in AutoCAD
  8. Creative, innovative, and open to change/new ideas
