The National institute for Medical Research (NIMR) is a ParastataI Organization under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The Institute is charged with carrying out, controlling coordinating, registering, monitoring and promoting Health Research in Tanzania. NIMR through the funding from Walter Reed Army Institute of Research is seeking to recruit competent staff for the following positions in its Project titled "Malaria Transmission in Tanzania" to be conducted at Mgambo National Service Camp in Tanga Region.
Data Clerk - 1 Post
Accountability
The data Clerk is accountable in the first instance to the Project Coordinator.
Description of duties
* The candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Data Manager.
* The candidate will familiarize her/himself with the programs used in by the Research Unit, which include Microsoft Access, Epi-Info, FoxPro and Microsoft Excel.
The candidate will be responsible for data entry while maintaining confidentiality procedures.
* The candidate will perform any other related duties assigned to him/her.
Qualifications
* Form IV or Form VI National Examination Council Certificate.
* Candidate with prior knowledge of computing and processing of biomedical/Clinical research data will be given a preference.
* Formal or on job training in computer applications and some database programmes.
* Working experience of at least 1 year with a research team will be an added advantage.
