FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER : Arusha, Longido District
Longido Community Development Organization (LCDO) is a membership, nonprofit organization based in Longido District, Arusha. The organization works towards the empowerment of the most vulnerable Pastoralist Maasai communities through promoting access to quality education, health awareness, access to safe and clean water, human rights and economic empowerment.

LCDO would like to recruit qualified candidates to fill the positions of Finance and Administrative Officer and Livestock marketing Officer. They will be working under the leadership/ guidance of the Coordinator to implement various donor funded programs/projects in Longido District.

Position:         FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Location:        Arusha, Longido District
Duration:      12 months (renewable based on satisfactory performance/availability of funds)
Reporting to:             Coordinator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.      Prepare financial reports for related administration and project accounts as per financial reporting standards and project agreements, This include maintenance of proper books of accounts, ensure the whole accounting cycle is functioning properly, and produce reliable financial statements
2.      Initiate fundraising strategies for the organization in such a way that to create reliable and sustainable source of fund,
3.      Make sure that there is proper internal control system in the organization to ensure reliability of financial reports, this include budgetary control and variance analysis for each project
4.      Participate in project proposal writing as well as budgetary planning for both administration and projects
5.      Liaise with external auditor and offer maximum cooperation during audit,
6.      Conduct periodic reconciliation of project versus administration accounts, bank reconciliations and report as required,
7.      Prepare monthly payroll and make sure that the organization comply with all statutory and legal requirements such as remittance of staff social security contributions, PAYE, WCF, and SDL on or before due dates,
8.      Undertake all administrative duties and make sure that staff welfare are taken care of as stated in organization policies and procedures
9.      Any other duties assigned by the coordinator

COMPETENCIES
1.      Excellent knowledge on Financial Reporting Standards for NGOs
2.      Knowledge in project accounting and donor funded accounts
3.      Ability to work with Microsoft office
4.      Ability to operate accounting packages

QUALIFICATIONS
Education - Bachelor in Accounting /Finance or related field

Work Experience - At least three (3) years of experience
