Job Descriptions: Research Assistant Tanzania (Volunteer)
Farm Radio International is seeking to hire a Research Assistant for Volunteer, for its project entitles "Making All Voices Count" For further information visit www.farmradio.org.
Responsibilities :
· Provide logistical support to the leas researcher for the research design workshop (February); focus groups and key informant interviews (Feb/March)
· Manage venue bookings and payments. honorarium/travel and transport payments for focus group and research design meeting participants and provide financial reports to the FRI Tanzania finance team
· Work closely with the researcher to develop the research strategy and objectives in consultation with other FRI staff
· Work closely with the researcher to develop a policy engagement strategy, stakeholder map and outreach plan
· Accompany the researcher to focus group sites and interviews to provide translation, facilitation and note taking support
· Provide follow-up calls and interviews when required
· Organize a results sharing workshop
· Liaise with key government representatives and the Hangar when required
· Provide a key point of contact for the researcher after the field research period has ended
Qualifications
o A University degree
o Excellent communication skills
o Good report writing skills
o Fluency in English & Kiswahili
o Basic financial & logistic skills.
o Understanding of small scale farming issues in Tanzania.
