HEAD OF MONITORiNG, EVALUATION & RESEARCH 1 POSITION DSM



Plan is an international child - centered Development Organization whose
mission is to achieve lasting improvements in the quality of Iife of deprived
children through a process that unites people across cultures and adds meaning and value to their lives. Plan has been working: in Tanzania since
1991, supporting children and communities to gain better access to health,
education, water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihoods , and protection
through five Country Programs. Plan works with children, their families and
communities to implement programmes at qrassroots level.
Plan Tanzania now invites applications from suitable, qualified and
experienced persons to fill the position described below.

1. HEAD OF MONITORiNG, EVALUATION & RESEARCH 1 POSITION DSM
Job Purpose: To lead the development and roll out Plan's M&E framework
and systems to ensure quality implementation of the Country Strategic
Plan. To lead alignment of all M&E from sponsorship and qrants.To lead
on overseeing research to build a strong evidence-base for programmes
and advocacy. \ "
Educational QualificatU:m arid Experience
• A Master's degree in International Development/International
Relations, statistics, Epidemiology or other relevant field preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant field based project management
experience, including significant time in Monitoring and Evaluation'
for development and complex emergency response.
• Experience in planning and facilitating training/workshops in M&E .
and research.
• Fluent written and spoken English language skills required.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly adapt technical
guidance to a_ny given operating environment. -
• Experience working with children and understanding their special
needs.
• Experience with rights based participatory MER approaches includ-
ing social audits.
• Experience ~anaging staff, including demonstrated experience in
staff training, coaching and mentoring.

work with a multi-ethnic team in a culturally appropriate manner.
• Experience in the use of technology for monitoring and accountabil-
ity .•
• This position requires high computer literacy with a full knowledge
of office applications.
• Knowledge on statistical analysis packages
