SALARY : GBP 4.2k PA (approx 4,500,000 RWF
Main purpose of job:
Ensure contractors complete work to the required standard, and undertake some maintenance work as required, especially electrical work.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?:
Estates maintenance at the UK's estate in Rwanda and Burundi will be provided by a small number of contractors.
You will supervise contractors to ensure the security of the building in which they are working. You will report to the Technical Works Supervisor (TWS) on the standard of work and the contractor will not be paid until their work meets the required standard. This is an important role in ensuring the quality of estates maintenance.
On occasions, there will be tasks you will carry out yourself – where it makes sense not to call in a contractor. These could cover any area, but you will have experience with plumbing.

Language requirements: Language: English (essential), Kinyarwanda, French (desirable)
Other skills / experience / qualifications:
Essential on arrival: Experience/qualifications as an electrician.
Desirable: Other experience in buildings maintenance, experience managing contractors, ability to drive.
