Unilever Tea Tanzania Limited is a plantation company operating under Unilever Tea, East Africa (UTEA). UTTL employs over 5,500 employees whose safety and security are very important to the business.
We are currently looking to hire Field Assistants, Assistant Accountant Payables, Procurement & Supplies Officer, Quality Assurance/World Class Manufacturing, Mechanical Technician, Clinical Officer, Registerred Nurses, Assistant Manager Production and Hospital Administrator for our Tanzania business. These roles will be field and office based and requires candidates with knowledge for the job.

Job Position: Field Assistant Manager (2 Posts)
Reports to: Estate Manager
Location: Mufindi, Tanzania

Duties and responsibilities of Field Assistant
1. Manage Estate Division to the highest agricultural standards and improve productivity through
a) Expansion and sustenance of mechanical harvesting operations by having best practices of harvesting, post-harvest handling and identification of potential MH fields.
b) Plan and oversee day to day operations by supervising hand plucking ,harvesting personnel to ensure acceptable standards of green leaf quality is harvested and well-handled to the factory.
c) Plan and execute the estate division annual agricultural practice, pruning and fertilizer application.
2. Ensure the division administration is managed by providing periodical crop forecast, validation of payroll input/output, payments of employees and the entire financial expenditure is within the budget.
3. Implement SHEQ/RA policy in the estate division by ensuring the highest standards are applied in line with the company guidelines,

Manage the estate division industrial/employee relations and CSR, conduct disciplinary cases as per the CBA /employment act and company disciplinary procedure. Enhance good co-existence amongst workers and the neighboring community.
Manage the division infrastructure and conservancy to the required standards; fully embed best practices in Rainforest alliance. Deliver the business targets aligned to Business Strategy, and enhance performance culture through business transformation.
Interfaces with many roles e.g. Factories, Finance, HRBP, Unions, Legal, etc
Relevant Skills and Experience
1. Crop Production and Field Operations
2. Sourcing - raw materials of agricultural origin
3. Plant Breeding - tea nurseries
4. Infrastructure Management
5. Project Management/Information Technology
6. Industrial Relations/Employee Relations
7. Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering or Bachelor of Science.
8. 2 Years experience.
