Job Summary

​The Australian Government, through DFAT, is committed to broadening and deepening its engagement with African countries and institutions. The Australia Africa Partnerships Facility (AAPF) is one of the mechanisms used to achieve the second objective of Australia's strategic approach to aid to Africa 2011-2015, which is 'to help build the human resources capacity of African countries, particularly in areas and ways where Australia has recognised strengths and expertise'. The goal of the AAPF is to develop partnerships between Australia and African countries that contribute to achieving African countries' development priorities.
Cardno Emerging Markets (Australia) Pty Ltd, through the AAPF, is seeking Expressions of Interest from Australian Universities in response to a need identified to assist with A Rapid Appraisal of the Policy and Regulatory Systems Governing the Mining Sector: Benchmarking performance in Australia, Chile, South Africa, and Zambia.  This activity calls for an Australian University to undertake a benchmarking assessment of policy and regulatory regimes and practices employed in the Australian, Chilean, South African and Zambian mining industries.  The activity will include a two month benchmarking study, a week long study tour to Australia, and a day long symposium in South Africa to present the findings.  The activity calls for the provision of an Australian University and Content Specialist, from February 2015 – June 2015.
