PRINCIPAL WATER ENGINEER : EWURA Head Office – Dar es Salaam
The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) is an independent, world class regulatory authority responsible for licensing, tariff regulation and quality of service regulation of the electricity, water, petroleum and natural gas sectors. EWURA has the following vacancy for which suitably qualified Tanzanian citizens are invited to apply 

WATER AND SEWERAGE DIVISION 
POST TITLE: PRINCIPAL WATER ENGINEER 
Duty Station: EWURA Head Office – Dar es Salaam 
Reports to: Technical Manager – Water and Sewerage 
Principal Water Engineer will assist in monitoring the process of overseeing effective and efficient application of provisions of the Water Supply and Sanitation Act and best industry practices. 
Main Duties and Responsibilities: 
i) To assist in coordination of the process of overseeing effective and efficient application of provisions of the Water Supply and Sanitation Act and good industry practices. 
ii) To assist in ensuring optimal provision of technical, environmental and safety inputs to regulating and controlling the distribution and sale of water and sanitation services. 
iii) To assist in facilitation of review, issuance, renewal and revoking of licenses for water supply and sanitation services in accordance with the Act and accepted standards. 
iv) To assist in reviewing technical viability of new water supply and sanitation service development projects in accordance with the Act. 
v) To participate in reviewing and advising on application for provisional licenses to carry out assessments, studies and other activities necessary in license applications. 
vi) To assist in monitoring availability, quantity and standards of services provided by Water Utilities, perform verification tests to determine water and sewerage quality and assess conditions of water sources and their utilization. 
vii) To assist in facilitating capacity building programs in regulatory matters and provision of better services by Water Utilities. 
viii) To participate in reviewing, updating, and advise on the entire water supply and sanitation services licensing process, including fixing and applying for application and licence fees, reviewing terms and conditions of licenses and tariffs, reviewing and advising on tariffs and prices of electricity, advising on rules for terms and conditions of licenses for supply of electricity to consumers. 
ix) To participate in reviewing and advising on application for provisional licenses to carry out assessments, studies and other activities necessary license applications. 
x) To coordinate monitoring and measuring of licensees' performance and compliance with the Act. 
xi) To effectively supervise and guide members of staff reporting on the job. 
xii) To undertake any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. 

Academic Qualifications and Experience 
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and experience: 
i) Possession of Bsc. in (Environmental Engineering, Civil and Water Resources Management Engineering, Municipal and Industrial services Engineering) from a recognized University. 
ii) Possession of Master degree or Post graduate qualifications in the fields mentioned above or others such as Business Administration. 
iii) Possession of Knowledge and Competence in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) application. 
iv) Possession of at least six (6) years work experience in relevant fields.
