Chemonics seeks a travel services manager for our Finance and Administration Division. The travel services manager will oversee the on-site travel agency, train employees on travel-related services and regulations, provide support and guidance to regional business units and support units, oversee relationships with travel-related vendors and service providers, and manage corporate travel services purchasing. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
•Direct on-site travel agency and ensure quality performance
•Develop strategic objectives to manage travel costs through maximizing volume discounts negotiated with travel-related vendors and services providers
•Identify and select service providers, and negotiate and manage vendor contracts
•Monitor preferred airline contracts performance
•Develop and disseminate policies regarding travel services
•Ensure compliance with travel-related government regulations and corporate policies
•Serve as liaison with staff in resolving travel services-related problems
•Continuously seek innovative ways to improve travel and purchasing processes through automation and workflow improvements
•Track all travel purchasing activity using internal system in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgets
•Prepare and process all travel purchasing transactions and ensure accuracy and completeness of records
•Serve as point of contact for after-hour travel-related emergency services
•Maintain and expand technical knowledge in travel services discipline by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and Chemonics practice networks
•Contribute to expansion of Chemonics' knowledge management system

Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
•Minimum three years of travel services experience required
•Knowledge of complex international travel planning and booking to the developing world preferred
•Federal travel management experience within a large international organization preferred
•Ability to solve technical, managerial, or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, well-rounded experience, and knowledge
•Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings
•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
•Supervisory experience preferred
•Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
