About VSO
Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) is the world's leading independent international development organization that works through international professional volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. Over the last 50 years, VSO Tanzania has worked in close collaboration with the Tanzanian Government and numerous Tanzanian organizations to support the socio-economic development of the country.
In collaboration with the MIYCS, VSO Tanzania has been implementing the International Citizen Service (ICS) project. ICS is a three-year project (2012 – 2015) funded by the UK Department for International Development (DIFID). The ICS project aims to offer high quality volunteering opportunities to young people aged 18-25, who are keen to contribute to international development, and is delivered through a Consortium of six agencies, with VSO as the lead agency.

Role overview
The ICS project seeks a dynamic, experienced, competent person to lead, supervise and manage young people from different cultures and races for a period of 4 months with possibility for extension for another 4 months. As a team leader, this person will work with a colleague from UK and will be responsible for ensuring project work at the community is achieving its objectives. The team leader will report to a ICS Project Officer.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
- At least 6 moths experience in youth supervisory position
- Relationship management skills and experience in fostering a team approach in youth projects and creating collaboration among partner organizations in youth development
- Excellent planning and coordination skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good report writing skills
- Experience in working in a multicultural environment
- Experience and/or good understanding of community development and reproductive health programs
- Good Computer skills especially in Excel, Word and Power Point
