Role overview
The VSO Tanzania secure livelihoods program is now launching a project named Raise Income for School Education (RISE) in the Muleba District area of the Kagera region in the north-eastern part of Tanzania country. The project aims to improve the quality of education for children and improving the income of their parents.

To implement the project, VSO Tanzania is recruiting a Teaching Skills Facilitator with sufficient experience in teaching in primary schools. The main goal of the role is to support teachers at primary schools to improve their capacity to teach. More specifically : you'll advice teachers on different teaching pedagogies and strategies, you'll train and coach teachers to practice new methodologies and try out new learning materials, you'll assist teachers to develop gender sensitive learning environments in their classrooms and you'll set up motivational strategies to support teachers (e.g. organizing exchange visits, refresher courses, upgrade skills and award 'teacher of the year certificates")

Skills, qualifications and experience required
You have at least a bachelor degree in Education. You have a minimum of 5 years experience as a primary school teacher. You have proven experience of coaching and training other teachers, pre and on service. You are available for a volunteer placement of 24 months.

Due to the funding of this project, only Dutch volunteers will be accepted.
