NAFASI ZA KAZI UTUMISHI - MJNUAT - 12/29/2015



Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere University of Agriculture and Technology (MJNUAT) is a newly established public University that has its headquarters in Butiama and operating from other five campuses in Mara Region. MJNUAT, which is an equal opportunity institution, is inviting applications to fill the positions of academic and administrative staff as indicated below:

[B] ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
1: Chief Legal/ Corporate Counsel (1 Post):

Qualification:
Master /PhD Degree in Law or equivalent qualification. The candidate should already
have been admitted to the bar as an advocate of the High Court in Tanzania and at least twelve years of work experience; with at least five years of experience at a senior management position in a reputable institution.
The successful applicant will be the head of the legal unit.

Legal Officer II (1 Post):
Qualification:
Degree in Law (LLB) and already completed the prescribed legal internship program recognized by the Attorney General.

Senior Human Resource and Administrative Officer II (2 Posts):

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Business Administration, Law, Human Resources Management, Education and He/she must have had at least six years of relevant work experience

Human Resources and Administrative Officer II (2 Posts):

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Public Administration, Business Administration, Law, Human Resources Management, Education Management, or its equivalent qualification.

Office Management Secretary II (3 Posts):
Qualifications:
Diploma in Secretarial Services who passed Manuscript and Tabulation stage III, Secretarial Duties and Office Practice Stage II, and Shorthand speed of 100/120 w.p.m

Personal Secretary (2 posts):

Qualifications:
Form IV certificate with secretarial services certificate; shorthand speed of 100 w.p.m in either in Kiswahili or in English and work experience of three years. Such candidates must also have skills in computer programs e.g. windows, Microsoft office Internet, E-mail and Publisher.

Records Management Assistant I (2 Posts):
Qualifications:
Secondary Education qualification with Certificate/
Ordinary Diploma in Records Management and three years of relevant work experience

Planning Officer 11(1 post):

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Planning, Economics, Educational Planning, Statistics or equivalent qualification.

Office Assistant II (3 Posts):

-Qualifications:
National Form IV Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili. Additional relevant academic attribute may be an added advantage.

Senior Estate Officer II (2 posts):

Qualifications: Professionally registered candidates who are holders of Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Architecture; Building Economics; Land Management and Valuation; Civil, Electrical, Environmental Engineering or equivalent qualification and at least six years working experience in related field.

Director of Estate Service (1 Post):
Qualifications:
Professionally registered candidate with Master/PhD Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Construction, Environmental); Architecture; Building Economics, Land Management and Valuation or any other related fields. He/she must have ICT skills; at least twelve years work experience in Estates Management, Architecture, Civil or Construction Engineering fields; with at least five years of which must be at a senior management position. The successful applicant will be the head of the Estates Directorate.

Warden II (1 Post):

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling Sociology, Home Economics or equivalent qualification.

Tutorial Assistants (TA)

Qualification and Experience
Candidates should be holders of relevant Bachelor Degrees, with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0. The applicants should, in addition, have at least a "B+" in the specified area/subject that he/she intends to specialize. Applicants must not be more than 35 years of age. At least 6 months of industrial experience in the relevant disciplines/fields shall be an added advantage.

Areas of specialization for Tutorial Assistant (TAs) (6 positions)

(i) BSc with Education (Mathematics and ICT stream) -1 position
(ij) Agronomy/Crop Science/Horticulture -2 positions
(iii)Food Science and Technology -1 position
(iv) Aquaculture -1 Position
(v) Animal Science -1 position

Terms of Employment:
Successful applicants for the position of Tutorial Assistant will be employed on Permanent and Pensionable Terms for those with ages equal or less than 35 years, whereas for all other cadres the age limit shall be 45 years, Successful applicants with ages above 45 years will be engaged on contractual terms in line with the public service regulations. All newly recruited staff will work under probation for one year and their appointment will be confirmed upon satisfactory work performance during the 12months- probation period. The services for those with unsatisfactory performance shall be terminated by the end the probation period in accordance with Government's Standing Orders.

Remuneration
Attractive remuneration packages will be offered to successful applicants in line with the MJNUAT Scheme of Service for Administrative Staff and Harmonised Scheme of Service for Academic Staff in Public Universities and Constituent Colleges
