The Malaria Branch of KEMRI/CGHR in collaboration with Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in Kisumu, Kenya has vacancies in clinical Malaria vaccine trial.Position:Medical Officer-MR 10-11(2 positions)

Essential qualifications:MBchB or Mmed pediatric, experience in a clinical research setup and work experience in a busy pediatric department.
Responsibilities:The trial will evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of a candidate malaria vaccine in infants and children.

S/He will supervise clinical officers,participate in study recruitment,vaccination,

Surveillance of malaria,

Reporting of adverse events and

Essential qualifications:

Bachelors of Science degree in a health related discipline or its equivalent or Master's degree in relevant area

At least 3 years relevant experience in a quality assurance/regulatory affairs

work experience in clinical trials.Responsibilities:Coordination of study regulatory affair

Work closely with ethical committees in different countries

Compile reports on adverse events and protocol deviations

Monitor safety parameters and implementation of standard operating procedures.Terms of employment:A 1 year renewable contract as per KEMRI scheme of service and a probation period for the first 3 months.
Trial is expected to be 2-3 years duration.
Remuneration:Compensation is negotiable within a relevant grade,based on education levels,relevant experience and demonstrated competency.
The salary scheme is based on the KEMRI scales supplemental amounts.
