The Tanzania Truck Owners Association-TATOA is a voluntary business Association of Truck Owners involved in the Cargo Freighting' business in and outside the United Republic of Tanzania. Since its inception in 2005, TATOA has grown to have 962 committed members of the business community whose mission is to be a key player in promoting a safe, reliable and efficient road freight industry in the sub-Sahara Africa. TATOA is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions:
Program Officer - Membership Development
The program officer - membership development chief responsibilities will be to develop' and oversee membership recruitment, renewal and retention programs and develop and oversee TATOA revenue generation programs. She/he will be required 'to develop and execute a work plan for' membership recruitment and renewal; research and make recommendations on innovative revenue generation strategies; develop and implement publicity and sustainability strategies; maintain the membership database and perform any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the TATOA board.
Key Competences
Demonstrated skills in Membership recruitment and retention.
Sound knowledge of organizational management and development.
Excellent communication skills.
Education Requirement
Minimum a diploma in any related field. A university degree will be an added advantage
Work Experience
Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in a similar or 'related position.

The program officers members' services key responsibility will be to engage and support TATOA members. He/She will be responsible to resolve emerging members trucks traffic flow and intervening on matters that pose a threat to free and fast movement, trucks and cargo; track legislative, and policy issues related to transport; regularly Communicate with members, updating them on industry trends,' emerging issues etc; organize trainings/events/activities for members; oversee the association's publications and any other as may be assigned from time to time by the TATOA board.
Key Competencies
In depth knowledge of the transport sector.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skins.
Adequate computer skills
Education Requirement
Minimum a Diploma in Transport Logistics or related field.
A University degree will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
A minimum of two(2) years progressive experience in similar or related position.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
The chief executive officer will be in charge of all activities of the association either directly 1 or through delegated authority. She/he will provide leadership in these areas, among others: Advocacy and lobbying;-the development of strategic, tactical, and financial plans; W performance measuring, monitoring and evaluation; liaison with public and private stakeholders and strategic partners: human resource development and oversight.
Key Competences
Experience in strategic planning and execution.
Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures.
Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
Knowledge of public relations principles and practices.
Communication and public relation techniques,
Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Proven experience managing a member-based association.
Education Requirement
A university degree in Business Administration or any other related field. A Masters degree will be an added advantage.
Work Experience
A minimum of five(5 years progressive experience in a similar position. Transport sector experience will be an added advantage.
