Jobs at The Contractors Registration Board , December 2015



The Contractors Registration Board is a Government Regulatory Board under the Ministry of Works, Transport
and Communication established by Act of Parliament No 17 of 1997 with the objective to register and regulate all
types of Contractors and to promote the development of their capacities for tHe purpose of protecting consumers
of construction services in Tanzania.

In order to carry out its functions effectively and thereby meet its objective, the Board needs dynamic, creative
and performance driven Tanzanian citizens to fill the following positions

Research Officer

Qualifications:-
Holderof a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution and who is registered by the Engineers!
Registration Board. Must have worked as a Researcher and participated in undertaking- Research Studies and
must possess strong computer skills with abilities to search for and retrieve information from various sources
(paper-based, the internet and online databases). She/he must be knowledgeable in use of data analysis
software packages. The right candidate must have a proven knowledge of the Construction Industry J
Duties:
1 ~ To conduct research studies including but not limited to identifying research study areas, preparation of
research proposals, research objectives, methods, variables, and other test parameters.
2: Data collection, analysis, interpretation and reports writing
3. Assist in Planning, monitorinq and evaluation of Board activities
4. Projects Registration
5. Assisting in Preparation of Periodical as well as Annual Reports
~ 6. To do any other duties as may be assigned

SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER

Qualifications:-
Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution and who is registered by the Engineers
Registration Board for at least the past 3 years. Must have worked as a Researcher and participated in
undertaking at least 3 research studies and must possess strong computer skills with abilities to search for and
retrieve information from various sources (paper-based, the internet and online databases). She/he must be
knowledgeable in use of data analysis software packages. The right candidate must have a proven knowledge of
the Construction Industry. A Masters degree will be an added advantage. -

Duties:
1: To conduct research studies including but not limited to identifying research study areas, preparation of
research proposals, research objectives, methods, variables, and other test parameters.
2. Data collection, analysis, interpretation and reports writing .
3. To advise improvements in Board systems and operations based on findings deduced from analysis of data
from internal and external sources
4. To advise on formulation of new and improvements to capacity building initiatives based on research findings
and benchmarking with similar institutions worldwide.
5. Preparation of Periodical as well as Annual Reports
6. To assist in drawing up short and long term plans of the Department and the Board
7. To do any other duties as may be assigned.
