Duty Station: Arusha, Tanzania

The School of St Jude is a charity funded NGO that provides a FREE, high-quality education to almost 1,900 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in Arusha. We are seeking a creative energetic individual to fill the position above based in Arusha, Tanzania at the School of St Jude. 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Knowledge in bakery 

·         Ability to use slow cookers.

·         A good sense of taste and smell, vision, good hand-eye coordination

·         Able to stand for long periods of time and to work in hot and humid environments

·         Able to remain calm under pressure

·         Well organized and able to manage activities in several work areas at once

·         Self-disciplined and able to work quickly, carefully and safely

·         Able to work well with others in the kitchen

·         Clean work habits and knowledge of food safety procedures

·         Good record keeping and basic financial skills to maintain inventories, and order supplies.

Education Qualifications

·         Certificate/Diploma in Catering

·         Minimum 3 years of working experience

Skills and Competence:

• Basic computer skills (optional)
• Good oral and writing communication skills
• Able to adapt to unusual requests and situations
• Prior experience working in a school or similar organisation
