 PROFILE
Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) is a Government Institution under the Ministry of Labour and Employment established in accordance with Section 5 of the Workers Compensation Act No. 20 of 2008.
The Fund is a contributory social security scheme responsible for payments of compensation as a result of accidents suffered and diseases contracted out of and in the course of employment in accordance with relevant provision of the Workers Compensation Act.
The Fund started its operations on 1st July 2015. All employers in the public and private sectors in Mainland Tanzania are compulsorily required to contribute to the Fund.
On behalf of the Fund, Deloitte Consulting Limited would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to fill various vacant positions in management positions at the Fund's Head Office in Dar es Salaam. All potential candidates must be computer literate.

2. Director Of Medical And Assessment Services (Job Ref: WCF/DMAS/11/15)

JOB PURPOSE
To oversee matters related to assessment of claims, workplace risk, health and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To advise on matters relating to compensation benefits.
To receive notice of injuries, claims for compensation and deter- mine validity of claims.
To oversee appointment and performance of Medical Advisory Panels and Assessors.
To propose formulation, implementation and review of policies for overall guidance of medical services, risk assessment and promotional activities for prevention of occupational accidents and diseases by the Fund.
To oversee development, implementation and review of guide- lines for provision of medical services, risk assessment and promotional activities for prevention of occupational accidents and diseases by the Fund.
To oversee provision of Medical services, risk assessment and promotional activities for prevention of occupational accidents and diseases by the Fund.
To advise the Fund on the tariff to be paid by employers.
To initiate and implement programs for prevention of occupational accidents and diseases.
To oversee management of medical and risk assessment services by the Fund.
To promote and supervise research activities on occupational accidents and diseases with a view to ensure efficiency and sustainability of the Fund.
To oversee collaborations between the Fund and other stakeholders working to prevent occupational accidents and diseases.
To oversee collection and management of the Fund's data on occupational accidents, diseases and deaths.
To oversee management of schemes, programs or projects supported by the Fund for promoting prevention of occupational accidents and diseases.
To advise the Fund on Schemes, programs or projects to be supported by the Fund for the purpose of promoting the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases.
To oversee management of external workplace risk assessors and medical practitioners.
To oversee the management of occupational accidents and diseases.
To oversee accreditation and management of Health Care Providers.
To prepare and submit performance reports as required by authorities from time to time.
To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Director General.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS: Holder of a Master's Degree in Medicine, Occupational Health Science, Environmental and Occupational Health Science,
Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering (Mechanical, Geological, Chemical, Environmental, Manufacturing, Mining or Civil), Environmental Science or equivalent education qualifications.

EXPERIENCE: Must have a working experience in relevant field for at least seven years, of which at least three years of which should be in a managerial position.

ORGANISATION APPOINTMENT AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS 
All the Directors and Heads of Units will be appointed by the Board of 
Trustees; and report functionally to the Director General except the Head of 
Internal Audit who will report to the Board of Trustees and administratively to the Director General. The Directors will supervise the managers within their 
Directorates and the Heads of Unit will supervise their immediate reportees. 

PERSONAL ATIRIBUTES 
For all advertised positions, candidates should possess the following attributes: excellent analytical skills, excellent communication skills, excellent problem solving skills, be visionary and motivational. The Head of Procurement should possess excellent negotiation skills. 

SALARY SCALE 
The Director positions will be paid at salary scale WCFSS 8 and Heads of Units at WCFSS 7.
