FINCA Tanzania is Currently seeking One (1) local Board Member to join its Board of Directors. The candidate is required to have a high level of integrity, honesty, competency and an ability to adhere to good corporate governance principles.
POSITION
LOCAL BOARD MEMBER TO JOIN BOARD OF DIRECTORS
RESPONSIBILITIES & LEGAL LIABILITIES
In addition to the joint responsibilities of the Board of Directors , the candidate is expected to be responsible for the following;
• Complying with a Memorandum of understanding to ensure safe and sound operations of the Institution.
• Complying with the secrecy provisions of the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2006.
• Ensuring he/she is not involved in any fraud or deliberate mismanagement.
• Ensuring that all credit facilities granted to him/her or his/her related parties by the Institution are given at an arm's length basis.
• Complying with the institutions conflict of interest policies
• Exercising rational and independent judgment.
• Complying with the duty of care and loyalty owed to the institution.
Please note that a Director may be fined, removed from office, or disqualified from holding any position or office in any banking institution in case of violation of provisions of the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2006 or regulations issued thereunder.
In addition, a Director is liable for damage caused when he/she breaches the duty of care and is liable for non-diligent and /or negligent performance of his/her duties as a Director.
