The United States-China Policy Foundation (USCPF) is a non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization dedicated exclusively to broadening awareness of China and U.S.-China relations in the Washington, DC policy community.

Job Description
The U.S.-China Policy Foundation is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a part-time program and research assistant position. This position will involve performing various research and writing tasks under the direction of senior Foundation staff members, to include assisting with long-term research projects, shorter analyses, and daily office communications dealing with U.S.-China relations and the USCPF mission goals. It will also involve assisting with the organization and implementation of various organization programs and events.
Job Responsibilities
  • Utilize Microsoft WordPress to maintain and update the USCPF website.
  • Conduct independent research and writing on issues related to U.S.-China relations.
  • Assist with larger research and book projects as directed.
  • Create and edit USCPF publications, including newsletters, annual report, and the Washington Journal of Modern China.
  • Assist with the organize and execution of USCPF lectures and events.
  • Assist with the production and execution of USCPF programs, including the weekly television program, China Forum
  • Answer phones, draft emails, and perform other office tasks as directed.
Job Qualifications
  • B.A. in International Relations, Asian Studies, or related field.
  • Knowledge of U.S.-China relations required.
  • Candidates currently pursuing a post-graduate degree are welcome to apply.
  • Excellent writing skills are essential. Position requires frequent use of writing and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to perform a variety of research tasks.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Travel experience in China preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office required.
  • Knowledge of WordPress and Adobe InDesign is a plus.
  • Experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.
  • Experience planning and implementing events preferred.
  • Note: education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the USCPF.
