CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO ATTEND
DFID Tanzania Supplier Briefing Seminar on 'Working with DFID'
The Department for International Development (DFID), as part of the UK Government, leads the UK's work to end extreme poverty. DFID is working to set the conditions for economic development in its focus countries by:
• Supporting accountability and good governance as important foundations for sustained and equitable poverty reduction and economic growth
• Private sector driven growth through: improving the investment climate, sustainable job creation, trade facilitation, export diversification and value chains, and infrastructure for growth
• Investing in human capital, including health and education - which also increases the productivity of the workforce.
DFID provides support for the implementation of a range of development activities in Tanzania. DFID would like to expand the number of partners and suppliers/service providers it works with in Tanzania to deliver its programmes. The primary sectors that DFID currently supports include:
• Economic Development e.g. agriculture and trade
• Education, Nutrition, Health, Social Protection, Water and Sanitation
• Governance and Accountability
• Economic Governance, e.g. Public Financial Management, Tax
The types of services we typically require include programme scoping and design, programme management, technical assistance, audit, financial management (including grant/fund management), monitoring and evaluation, research, conducting surveys and policy support.
We therefore would like to invite suppliers/service providers and NGOs (in particular those not currently working with DFID Tanzania) to submit an expression of interest to attend a briefing seminar on 'Working with DFID' and also to be added onto our local suppliers database. If you are a private supplier/service provider or NGO currently working in Tanzania and have the right skills and relevant development sector experience, then DFID would like to hear from you.
The seminar will provide opportunities for suppliers/service providers and NGOs to meet the DFID Tanzania team, to understand the programme and potential opportunities for working with DFID Tanzania, and to understand how DFID undertakes its procurement. Interested organisations and individuals are now requested to submit the following information (in no more than 2 pages, pages in excess of this limit will not be read):

2. Contact details (address, phone, email, etc)
3. Self-employment registration details
4. CV including the following:
• Professional qualifications
• Area of expertise/services provided
• Previous experience and clients
Submissions should be clearly marked "EOI for DFID Tanzania Supplier Briefing Seminar" and sent to e-mwasakafyuka@dfid.gov.uk copied to lesley-miller@dfid.gov.uk. Hard copies should be delivered to the Procurement Manager, DFID Tanzania, Umoja House, Garden Avenue, P.O. Box 9200, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. All submissions are due on or before 17th June 2015 at 14.00 hours local time.
Shortlisted suppliers will be invited to attend the DFID Tanzania Programme Briefing Seminar and notified of the event date and time (which will be in July 2015).
