The Senior Reading Specialist is responsible for providing technical oversight and guidance on all aspects of the reading program including curriculum design, lesson planning, instructional approach, teacher professional development, materials development and distribution, classroom –level assessment and large-scale assessment.
Qualifications: Master's degree in education with a specialty in early grade reading or PhD preferred. 10 years of experience working in primary education in sub-Saharan Africa with a specific focus on one or more of the following areas: curriculum design, lesson planning, instructional approach, teacher professional development, materials development and distribution, classroom–level assessment and large-scale assessment. Prior experience serving in a technical leadership capacity on USAID-funded education projects preferred.
