Title: IT MANAGER
Location: Dar es salaam
Reports to: Deputy Director, Finance & Admin
Position Summary: The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks. The Information Technology Manager manages and provides hardware and software maintenance training and consultation and recommendations about future planning and development of resources in an effective and efficient manner to ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources
Responsibilities
The right candidate will be responsible for managing information technology and computer system by planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the (EDP), developing and implementing policies and procedures for electronic data processing and Computer systems operations and development and meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, cost and timeline. S/he will ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software; will troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system, provide orientation to new users of existing technology, train staff about potential uses of existing technology, new technology and potential use and maintain current and accurate Inventory of Technology hardware, software and resources. The right candidate will also Monitor and maintain technology and ensure maximum access by providing network access to all staff and interns, installing work stations, connecting and setting up hardware, loading all required software, providing network accounts and passwords as required, monitor security of all technology, installing and maintaining foolproof password, inputting and maintain IP addresses, advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status and ensure installation of lock out programs
Qualifications
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas: Computer hardware and software systems and programs computer network administration and installation, troubleshooting, virus and security, e-mail and internet programs. S/he should have analytical and problem solving skills, effective and verbal presentation skills, computer skills, ability to operate computerized accounting spreadsheets, word processing, graphic and web development programs at a high proficient level. S/he should also be at least a holder of BSc in Computer Science with minimum of three years' experience in IT Management or related field
