Job Summary
Cardno is growing in NZ and is seeking a senior Structural Engineer to lead our Structures team in Christchurch.
Key Responsibilities
Specifically, your duties will include –
- Driving Cardno's commitment to safety and achievement of Zero Harm
- Managing the overall performance of the Structural Engineering team including financial management
- Provision of leadership, mentoring and professional development for the team
- Driving new business development opportunities in structural engineering ensuring key stakeholder relationships are maintained and developed
- Carrying our structural engineering work including site investigations, preparation of designs, reports, contract documents, plans and other engineering consultancy deliverables required by project briefs
- Project and client management for key structural engineering projects
- Provision of accurate and efficient engineering designs within project budgets and timelines
Other Requirements
To be successful you will display –
- Tertiary qualifications in a related Engineering discipline coupled with a demonstrated track record of driving high-performance teams
- Previous experience in a senior Engineering capacity (ideally 15 years +) within a consulting environment (ideally with local area experience)
- Professional registration (IPENZ)
- Demonstrated experience in developing new business opportunities through effective client relationships and business development
- Strong commercial acumen
- An ability to influence and negotiate through effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Project Management skills to ensure specifications are met in line with commercial requirements
