Job Summary
Cardno is seeking a Hazardous Waste Technician in our Tinker AFB office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
> Pick-up, delivery, and transportation of Heavy Hazardous Waste Drums to/from designated sites in all weather conditions
> Operate a forklift, gasoline powered pump, pressure washer, and flatbed pickup
> Conduct both visual and documented inspections of all containers at Waste Facility
> Follow directions given by direct supervisor and lead technician
> Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
> Take samples of waste for chemical analysis
> Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Basic Qualifications:
> High School Diploma required
> Must be able to obtain Department of Defense security clearances
> Must be able to pass a background check
> Must be able to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 lbs. and stand for up to 2 hours at a time
> Ability to communicate effectively both internally and with external customers
> Must be able to pass a medical fitness exam and respirator fit test
> Must have basic understanding of Hazardous Materials and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
> Must be able to pass forklift operator skills evaluation after basic training
> Must have basic experience using computers
> Experience in management and handling of hazardous waste
> 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certificate
> Experience working at military installations and/or industrial operations
> Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
