Senior consultant on agri-economics and water management (0,8- 1 FTE)

Aidenvironment believes sustainable water management in agriculture is essential in maintaining and improving the natural resource base, food security and value creation in supply chains. The value added of improved water use efficiency and resource management can be used to develop a business case in order to mobilize financial resources for necessary investments in improved water management.

Regarding the area of expertise 'water management for agricultural value chains', Aidenvironment integrates her experience and skills on sustainable water management, value chain improvement and business plans/financing arrangements. Keywords are value chain resource-efficiency, business modelling, sustainable financing and sustainable management of natural resources, focusing on water management.

For our office in Amsterdam, we are now looking for a senior consultant who will:

• Advise our clients on the issues that occur within the domain of water-agriculture-value chains, strongly focusing on the agri-economic aspects in relation to water management.
• Provide high quality (strategic and in depth) advisory services that strongly builds upon Aidenvironment's in-house knowledge .
• Build and manage an international client portfolio in the private, profit and non-profit sector.
• Manage consultancy assignments.
• Contribute to the growth of our organization.

Profile
The successful candidate has:

• At least 7-10 years of working experience.
• A track record of at least 5 years of relevant experience in consultancy in the domain of agriculture economics in combination with water (and water economics).
• A track record of at least 3 years of working experience with the private sector.
• Strong strategic consultancy skills and experience (and success) in acquisition.
• Relevant academic background with excellent academic results.
• Working experience in a southern country and working experience on commodities such as palm oil, soy, cocoa, coffee, tea, or cotton in combination with water management is highly appreciated.

Excellent working (and writing) knowledge of English. Knowledge of Dutch and a third language such as French, or Spanish is highly appreciated.
