Programme Manager – Corporate Human Rights Benchmark (CHRB)
OVERVIEW

The Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB), an independent and impartial think tank focused on business and human rights, is seeking to recruit a dynamic, experienced Programme Manager to manage a complex initiative - the Corporate Human Rights Benchmark (CHRB).

The CHRB seeks to drive responsible business activities by developing a transparent, publicly available and credible benchmark of company human rights performance. The CHRB is a collaborative initiative, led by a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee comprised of IHRB, the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre, Aviva, Calvert Investment, VBDO and Eiris. The Programme Manager will report to IHRB but will work on behalf of the CHRB. The Programme Manager will be expected to work with all Steering Committee members of the CHRB, supporting each member contribute to different work streams of the CHRB. The CHRB expects to appoint an Executive Director for the CHRB during the course of the Programme Manager's employment. Once that appointment is made, the Programme Manager will report to the Executive Director and to transition to a work contract with the CHRB directly.
JOB DESCRIPTION

IHRB is recruiting a dynamic, experienced Programme Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Corporate Human Rights Benchmark (CHRB) under the supervision of IHRB's Director of Research and Legal Affairs and in coordination with the Steering Committee.

All candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. The Programme Manager will work primarily from home and be required to attend periodic meetings in London.

The main objectives of the role are:
  • Programme Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the CHRB and support the work and research of the Steering Committee.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Build both formal and informal networks of stakeholders that are crucial to the development and operation of the CHRB.
  • Visibility: Use various communications tools to position CHRB as a leading, global, mission-driven benchmark.
  • Financial sustainability: Support the Steering Committee to develop and manage new relationships with potential funders.
