SENIOR ENGINEER SUBSTATIONS

The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) is focusing on increasing the outreach and service quality of its Energy products for Tanzania people. Next to its current passion as a leading provider of electricity is to be more efficient customer focused utility for Tanzania and beyond. The Company has the largest electricity generation, transmission and distribution network in Tanzania. In order to reach its goals, the Company will, in the coming years invest heavily in its generation, transmission and distribution network, its business systems and human capital.

SENIOR ENGINEER SUBSTATION S – 1 POST REPORTING TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER SUBSTATIONS REF. No. 06

POSITION OBJECTIVE

To Assist the Principal Engineer Substation on coordinating ongoing activities in all grid substations in accordance with the current/existing grid code.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To maintain continuity and security of primary and secondary supplies in the TANESCO grid system, supervise all substation activities and ensure all facilities are in god working conditions.
• To control and sanction the issuance and cancellation of Permits to work in the respective substations while Adhering to OHS policy
• To prepare and submit substation daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Record and maintain S/S SLD and other relevant documents.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor Degree In Electrical /Power system Engineering, or equivalent from reorganized University/College
• Must be registered by Engineers Registration Board(ERB)
• 1 – 2 years' experience in relevant field

REMUNERATION

An attractive compensation package based on performance and commensurate with the responsibility will apply to successful candidates. All positions' terms of employment are performance based fixed contracts.
