IMA World Health is US Faith-based International organization providing support in various health related programs in partners' countries. IMA also provides essential products, including pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and services for emergency. IMA provides support to health and development programs for overseas health partners (churches, faith-based organizations, relief organizations and public agencies).
IMA through USAID Funds is supporting the implementation of National Neglected Tropical Diseases Control Programme in 7 Regions (Lindi, Mtwara, Pwani, Rukwa, Dodorna, Singida, Tabora and Mwanza)
Specific Responsibilities
Take part and contribute in budget development fn line with approved work-plans and assist to conduct periodical reviews of both programs and budgets when the need arises.
Under direction of the senior program manager and in collaboration with finance Officer take part and contribute in program planning, implementation and evaluation activities
Assist and facilitate the processes of local partner's integration of all NTD areas in the mainstream health care delivery system at district levels.
Liaise closely with District Health Management Teams (DHMT) as well as other relevant local partners for a harmonized and smooth running of program activities
Support IMA NTD senior program manager and local partners to follow up NTD morbidity management
project implementation and design of a monitoring and evaluation plan in line with National NTD program framework
Under the direction of the senior program manager take part in developing a comprehensive advocacy
strategy and local community mobilization plans
Ensure and maintain a high quality program implementation approach, monitoring and evaluation also assist in capacity building of partners in the district
Conduct regular field visits to partners in the program areas for both technical support and monitoring
Assist with report writing both for program activities and timely dissemination of the same
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Tanzanian National with five or more years of program management in a mid-level position in a
reputable organization an international NGO IDonor funded or big health research program
Dynamic, flexible ,team player with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Analytical and keen to details with ability to write high quality timely program progress reports and other reports as deem necessary
NTD Morbidity Management experience is a MUST: Experience working in eye care is a plus
Experience managing Trachoma/Lf related morbidity management projects and or patients is a
plusSome experience in managing multi-partner, multi-site, multi-district based programs and partners
including government is MUST;
Exposure in health program management specifically health interventions or health research
Adequate knowledge of PC NTDs in Tanzania and the WHO recommended strategy for their
Control/elimination: Morbidity management experience is a plus
Track record in the management of budgets and finances - a plus; Track record of working at speed and producing results in high pressured work environment;
Some skills in strategic and program planning and ability in analytical, written and advocacy skills;
Ability and willingness to travel to the field for extended periods of time;
Computer literate and good presentation skills; Good interpersonal and communication skills in Kiswahili and English Languages;
Project proposal writing skills and experience is a plus
Minimum Academic Qualifications
MDI AMO, Nursing, Social Scientist with Masters in public health and or MSC tropical medicine.
