Context

HERi Madagascar is a social enterprise that constructs and supports solar kiosks in remote, off-grid villages. We believe that electricity is the starting point, the spark, for new ideas, better businesses and shared success. The kiosks are run by female entrepreneurs, who pay a franchise fee and in return can keep all revenues generated by the kiosk's activities. All kiosks offer a base portfolio of lamp rental and phone charging and complementary services (video sessions, cold drinks, hairdressing) dependent on the needs and desires of the villagers. The HERi marketing manager is responsible for:

• Developing and following up on the overall marketing strategy and annual marketing plan
• Building and maintaining relationships with key partners
• Providing leadership and planning to the marketing department
• Organizing and directing marketing and strategy meetings to discuss and improve the effectiveness of launches and campaigns
• Controlling the marketing budget and evaluating the Return on Investment of launches and campaigns
• Contributing to management team meetings
• Ensuring alignment with the other departments such as Field and sales, operations and finance
• Managing the fellowship program
• Identify grants / prizes that contribute to the recognition and notoriety of HERi Madagascar

Organizational structure

HERi Madagascar has grown from 4 employees in 2012 to over 25 in 2014. Within HERi Madagascar, the marketing manager reports directly to the managing director and leads an international team of 6-8 young professionals. The marketing manager is part of the management team which is headed by the managing director and includes an Admin and HR manager, management controller and sales and field manager.

Job profile

The marketing manager that we are looking for has business sense and is creative and driven. He/ she has experience in managing a team and has worked in development countries before. Other criteria:

• Bachelor +
• Minimum of 8 years of commercial experience
• Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience
• Fluent in English and French
• Experience in working in development countries
• Experience in Renewable Energy is a plus
