LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST- HUMAN (X 2)
(ATTACH TO THE ZONAL CENTER)
Location: Moshi and Mwanza Zonal Centers, Tanzania
Reports To: Zonal Lab In charge and M&E officer
Project End Date: One year but renewable.

Job Purpose:

The incumbent will be attached at the zonal center where s/he will work with zonal lab staff to screen all blood collected at the center including blood collected from TRCS regions. S/he will liaise with regional teams on receiving/delivery time for blood samples from the regions. S/he will ensure the turnaround time for test results is maintained.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Liaise with regional teams to transport/receive blood/samples through courier system from regions to zone
Perform blood screening, processing in collaboration with zonal lab staff
Maintain quality assurance in all procedures
Keep proper data records
Ensure timely availability of test results to the regions
valid registration with Medical council or any other relevant professional body
To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Zonal Lab. Technologist in charge

Basic Requirements
Diploma/Certificate in Laboratory technology.
Minimum of two years of work experience in the laboratory is required
Valid registration with Medical Council of Tanzania or any other relevant professional body

Key Competencies:
Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively are required.
Thorough knowledge and skills of basic laboratory services
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to build and motivate teams and work under pressure
Computers skills is required
