Graduate Support Officer at Women for Women International (WfWI), Kigali, Rwanda – DEADLINE: 31/05/2014
Women for Women International (WfWI), an INGO headquartered in Washington DC and operating in eight countries around the world seeks to hire a Graduate Support Officer, to be based in the Kigali Office with travel to other locations as required.
PURPOSE
The Graduate Support Officer working under the supervision of the Income Generation Manager and in close coordination with the M&E department, will provide linkages to WfWI graduates with a view of ensuring that these graduates gain employment and generate a sustainable income.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and link women to potential local, regional, and international markets;
- Explore partnership with relevant government agencies for graduate employment and market:
- Explore and develop partnerships with private sector actors as well as relevant NGOs
- Seek opportunities for partnership with institutions to offer trainings for women in value chain & entrepreneurship;
- Develop and maintain sustainable networks with job creators locally and regionally;
- Keep updated records of all graduates with their new development
- Provide technical support mentorship and business coaching to graduates who have either running businesses or those who will be developing business idea
- Track national legislation and informal employment trends and opportunities that WfWI graduates may benefit from;
- Periodically conduct market assessments to determine suitability of the trainings offered:
- Collaborate closely with the Cooperative Support Officer, to ensure that selected program graduates are provided with further training and support in their Cooperative development and functioning
- Assist the Monitoring & Evaluation unit with evaluation of trainings and other M&E processes related to the graduate services
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing.
- Agribusiness, Business Administration or any related discipline.
- At least three (3) years relevant work experience preferably with a NGO.
- Demonstrated skills in market linkages, job creation, value chain, and other pro-poor poverty reduction strategies.
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with Cooperatives is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service approach.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to adhere to work plans /schedules and reporting requirements.
- Strong computer skills in Ms Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and email.
- Excellent written and spoken English and local language skills.
