Corporate Social Responsibility Programme Manager
The Corporate Social Responsibility Programme Manager (CSR PM) drives the community development strategy for NFC in Tanzania, providing leadership, strategic direction, and effective and practical on the ground management of the implementation and improvement of the program and its outcomes. The CSR PM would be based in Iringa and would be responsible for all CSR investments in and around all the plantations and processing plants from Iringa to Kilolo and Njombe.
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: Minimum of 7 years professional experience ● a relevant University degree is essential, master's degree preferred ● sound knowledge of development principles and best practice ● experience with community development in Tanzania ● ability to convey information via clear and professional written and verbal communications ● ability to identify and mitigate risks to the business ● ability to cultivate and foster relationships with stakeholders and partners; and in particular, with local and national government officials ● regular travel to villages neighbouring plantations and overnight stay away from home.

Purpose of the position:
• Responsible for driving the community development strategy for NFC in Tanzania, providing leadership, strategic direction and effective and practical on the implementation and improvement of program and its impact.
• Provides assistance and guidance to the CEO in government relations, interact with stakeholders t all levels to promote NFC's social business model and supports the forestry operations in dealing with issues of land, labour and local communities.
• Ensure aspects of corporate social responsibility are incorporated into all areas of company operations and their values is respected and understood by the entire Tanzanian team
Skills and competencies required:
• Big picture oversight and management of all community development projects in the communities surrounding the plantations in areas of health, education, and income generation.
• Support the CEO in continuing to build strong, strategic relations with critical government officials and institutions and managing those relationships at the National and District levels.
• Implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system which measures the effectiveness of community development projects as well as the social return on investment and value add to the company.
• Lead the annual budgeting process for the corporate responsibility programme; manage and oversee the implementation of these annual budgets and work plans.
• Assist Head of Corporate Responsibility to compile Tanzania contribution to annual group Sustainability Report and distribute report to all stakeholders in Tanzania.
• Support forestry operations in ensuring highest international labor health and safety practices, including the oversight, coordination and implementation of health services to labor.
• Provide proactive, cooperative support in dealing with operational issues including but not limited to issues to do with land, government, labor, community, public relations and stakeholders generally.
• Provide support to the forestry management team in the Forest Stewardship Council certification and auditing processes, particularly in the social areas.
• Reach out to partner organizations for co-funding and grant opportunities to scale up successful projects under the guidance of the Head of Corporate Responsibility.
• Advise the Head of Corporate Responsibility regularly to identify, assess, measure and monitor major business risks and build into the management systems/processes the mitigation measures as required.
