KIT (Royal Tropical Institute) in Amsterdam is a multifaceted center of expertise for international cooperation, healthcare and culture. Its main focus is on sustainable development and poverty alleviation. KIT Health aims to improve the health of people in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) by cooperation on research, evaluation, advice and education. We work with partners to generate context-specific knowledge and to build capacity at the interface of policy and practice. Priority is given to offering added value to (inter)national agenda's and programs focusing on sexual and reproductive health & rights (SRHR) and universal health coverage (UHC).
As our external portfolio is steadily expanding, we seek to recruit an advisor in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The work takes place in Amsterdam but requires substantial travelling to notably Africa, and to a lesser extent to Asia and Eastern Europe.

As an advisor at KIT you will:
As an advisor at KIT you will:
- Develop and implement advisory, evaluation and research projects related to adolescent SRHR, maternal and newborn health and SRHR generally in low- and middle income countries.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, and linking research, policy and practice on SRHR.
- Develop and implement post-graduate SRHR and public health education and training programmes in Amsterdam and abroad.
- Do acquisition work to further develop of our SRHR portfolio, with special attention for Francophone Africa.
- Develop relevant partnerships (e.g. with Government and civil society organizations, private companies, training and research institutes).
You have:
- A master's degree in a relevant field, such as (international) health or social sciences. A PhD degree is an important asset.
- A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in SRHR and public health. Good understanding of health systems in LMIC is an asset, as is research experience.
- Demonstrated working experience in LMIC.
- Excellent entrepreneurial, organization, communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability of successful proposal writing
- Demonstrated creative and analytical writing skills.
- Willingness and stamina to travel abroad regularly.
- Positive and results-oriented attitude, ability to work within varying disciplinary teams, passion and commitment, open personality and eager to learn - and to share learning.
- Proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written) is a must.
- Facilitation and training skills and experience will be an advantage.
