The Communication, Marketing and Events unit is currently seeking a highly motivated communication professional to join the team:
Senior Communication Officer – Press Officer/Newsletter editor-in-chief
Responsibilities
Media relations
• Press relations at European level (drafting press releases and editorials, dealing with journalists and acting as a spokesperson for EUA as necessary)
• Media/News monitoring (including all relevant EU issues)

General communications
- EUA Newsletter editor-in-chief (for all internal and external newsletters)
- Issues related to the content and structure of the website
- Drafting and coordinating content for the annual report
- Quality control and planning of e-mailings, letters, brochures, leaflets
- Assisting director with the strategic planning and organisation of EUA communication and marketing activities
- Back-up to the webmaster
Background and qualifications
- At least five years' experience in communications, media relations or editing, preferably in higher education or research
- Native English speaker, good knowledge of French, any other European language an asset
- Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CMS systems Excellent planning, strong organisational skills and ability to work efficiently to deadlines
- Excellent social and communication skills
- A dynamic and conscientious team-player able to work autonomously on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- An interest in European higher education and research
