BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST
Acacia Mining seeks to employ three Business Improvement (BI) Specialists (Mining / Metallurgy (Process Plant) / Asset Reliability (Maintenance and Engineering)) based at Bulyanhulu Mine in Tanzania. These roles report to the Business Improvement Program Manager and the role holder will be accountable to co-ordinate, direct and organize systems and team effort to ensure the delivery of the assigned Business Improvement (BI) Project Plan (CPORT) in alignment with the overall Bulyanhulu business BI effort.
This is a fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Generate and complete CPORT scopes for sign off on projects assigned
• Customers (direct involvement for BI focus) believe that the project implementation has been a success and has added value to their work
• Milestones achieved on time and to scope (qualitative & quantitative)
• At least 90% alignment and 100% on all key aspects of systems and processes implemented
• The work is well aligned, delivered value and has been co-ordinated & integrated within the functional department
• The customer base is at genuine compliance by end 2015 with respect to implementing the projects and recommendations, working collaboratively with the BI team and proactively initiating more improvements with the team
• Customers believe that advice given is considered and constructively integrated into solutions
• Willingness to request advice for pertinent complex problems requiring resolution
• Management Information (Weekly Progress Report, Weekly RAR, Project Completion Report and Project Scopes (CPORT)) completed on time, accurately and with the relevant content
• At least 90% Project Officer rating for information flow and distribution
• Recipients believe information sharing and communication of project direction and scope are highly valuable, on time and accurate and content of reports are optimized to reflect project progress
• Projects have signed/agreed CPORT from customer before initiating
• Objectives are met by team members
• Team member reviews conducted
• Performance Reviews completed
• All team members at Genuine Compliance against the 6 ABG behaviors by the end 2015
• All team members are trained on tools and coached in effective use of the tools
• Peers believe that you add value to their work
• The BI Program Manager believes that you are a supportive team member who works collaboratively with the team and adds value to the team
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
• A relevant tertiary Mining / Process Plant (Metallurgy) / Asset Reliability (Maintenance and Engineering) qualification
• Post graduate studies in finance, economics or business would be advantageous
Experience Requirements:
• 7 - 10 years' experience in mining, construction or heavy industry, and 2 - 3 years' experience in operational leadership role
• Must have implemented continuous improvement projects
• Must have business improvement tools and processes experience
• Mining, processing, maintenance and geology experience
