MARINE ENGINEER POSITION

Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) was established under the Ports Act No. 17 Of 2004. The Authority is vested with the obligation and responsibility of developing, managing and promoting Maritime Sector in Tanzania mainland.
The major role of TPA is to enhance the advantages of the geographical position of Tanzania's maritime resources.

In light of the above, TPA invites applications from suit ably qualified and competent applicants to fill the following vacant posts

Marine Engineer III - 5 Posts
Station: Dar Es Salaam
Salary Grade: TPGS 5
Key Responsibilities
Supervise shift crew in carrying out shipping operations;
Participate in preventive maintenance duties in Marine Craft engines and plants;
Execute craft corrective maintenances;
Maintain records for marine craft maintenance and operating engine running hours by keeping craft log book up to date;
Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time. 14.3 Qualifications and Experience

Academic/Basic Qualifications:
Form IVIVI with passes in science subjects
Computer Literate
Valid Mandatory Certificates

Professional Qualifications:
Certificate of Competence class 11\ in Marine Engineering
F.T.C. in Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience:
At least sea time of 3 years in foreign going/ coastal ships whose engine capacity is greater than 750kw.
