Shift In-Charge - (2 Posts)
A. Key qualifications for the Weighbridge Shift In-Charge; 1. Minimum Education Qualification is a Holder of First Degree in any Profession - Higher Qualifications will be of added advantage; 2. Must be Computer literate (at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution);
3. Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English languages;
4. Must be a Tanzanian Citizen;
5. Age limit is between 35 and 40 years
B. Duties and Responsibilities:
Shift In-Charge should observe good customer care, dignity and integrity to
carrying out all activities as described in the road traffic (Maximum Weigh of Vehicles) Regulations, 2001 including the following du¬ties:-
1. Enforcing Road traffic Axle load control by the use of Weigh¬bridge scale device;
2. Overall supervision of the shift activities,
3. Weighing motor vehicles Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) from 3,500kg or above plying on our public roads;
4. Imposing road damage fees on the spot for overloaded vehicles;
5. Measuring physical dimension of motor vehicle or any load being carried on the motor vehicle and cause to seek a special permit to transporters in case of non compliance with vehicle dimensions limit;
6. Ascertain compliance to the abnormal load permit and report any discrepancy to the Regional Manager for the appropriate actions;
7. Record all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle be¬ing weighed and report all matters on axle load control to the Regional Manager;
8. Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Regional Manager.
