Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is an International NGO specializing in Relief and Development activities through working with local partners.
 
CRS Tanzania is looking for a qualified Survey Enumerator to interview persons in person or by other means for the purpose of completing questionnaires according to supervisor's instructions. Ask specific questions, record answers, and assist supervisor with communication with population by orally translating supervisor questions and answers to the population and vice-versa. May sort, classify, and file questionnaires.

Work Station:                Will be travelling to villages in Songea, Morogoro and Njombe
Duration:         17 days

Specific tasks:

  • Ask questions in accordance with instructions to obtain various specified information, such as person's name, address, age, religious preference, or state of residency.
  • Identify and report problems in obtaining valid data.
  • Work closely with supervisor daily to submit completed assignments and discuss progress.
  • Explain survey objectives and procedures to interviewees and interpret survey questions to help interviewees' comprehension.
  • Play an interpreter role during individual interviews when needed.
  • Review data obtained from interview for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies in interviewees' responses by means of appropriate questioning or explanation.
  • Report and translate any concerns raised by interviewees to supervisor and report and translate back supervisor's response and suggestions
Qualification
·         Graduate degree and strong experience in research activities.
·         Qualitative research skills and experience with work samples of field notes
