Good neighbors Tanzania(GNTZ) was established in 2005 and its activity has been carried out in both Da r es sallam, Mwanza and Dodoma.in particular GNTZ  regional is located in mwanza has worked with National institute for medical research(NIMR)Mwanza center as a collaborative partner for NTDs(Neglected tropical diseases)control program  in lake zone since 2008.

Maternal health project
Was developed so as to improve the health of a women especially women of child bearing age and their children, to support and strengthening health system so as to provide care to women and decrease deaths among women and children in 12 wards,kishapu,mwadui luhumbo , bunambi,mwadui luhumbo,ukenyenge,kiloleli,gofila,seke bugoro and lagano wards in kishapu district in Shinyanga region

Position –Operation Manager 1 posts
Duty station – Shinyanga region
Introduction
An operation manager typically ensures smooth operation of various processes that contribute to the implementation of activities of an organization. Obviously the role of an operation is very wide and encompasses many operation area especiialy on this maternal health project
While other employees can focus on specialized areas of operation(finance, administration or medical)an operation manager typically wears multiple hats and does a bit of just about everything

Direct entry Qualification

  • Holder a bachelor degree in sociology, community development, social work or any other social science
  • Working experience with atleast 3 years in the related field will be an added advantage
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Have computer skills in Ms word, PowerPoint, internet ,e mails
  • High skills on report writing, monitoring and evaluation on health projects will be added advantage
  • Skills and work experience in planning and project management
  • High level of integrity and ability to work as part of professional team
  • Hard working and committed to the work given
  • High level competence and honestly of the work
  • Good command of English writing and spoken
Duties and responsibilities
·         Plan, execute and manage maternal health  project development from beginning to end.
·         Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support maternal health  project goals in the organization
  • Collaboration with other department and stakeholders.
·         Develop full-scale project plans including M&E plans and associated communications documents
·         Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders 
in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with maternal health project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
·         Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
·         Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes
where necessary
·         Plan and manage project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools

·         Track project milestones and deliverables.
·         Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
·         Proactively manage changes in maternal health project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
·         Be responsible for balancing and accounting budget for the project
·         Determine and assess need of network, and build the appropriate networks of project-related experts and influential groups
·         Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
·         Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project staffs and the stakeholders(community committee, volunteers, local governments etc)
·         Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and community and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
·         Build, develop, and grow network (/project relationships) vital to the success of the project.
