Good neighbors Tanzania(GNTZ) was established in 2005 and its activity has been carried out in both Da r es sallam, Mwanza and Dodoma.in particular GNTZ  regional is located in mwanza has worked with National institute for medical research(NIMR)Mwanza center as a collaborative partner for NTDs(Neglected tropical diseases)control program  in lake zone since 2008.

Maternal health project
Was developed so as to improve the health of a women especially women of child bearing age and their children, to support and strengthening health system so as to provide care to women and decrease deaths among women and children in 12 wards,kishapu,mwadui luhumbo , bunambi,mwadui luhumbo,ukenyenge,kiloleli,gofila,seke bugoro and lagano wards in kishapu district in Shinyanga region

Good neighbors Regional office mwanza is looking for motivated Medical doctor for shinyanga  project on maternal health and child survival

Position -Medical doctor 1 post
Duty station – Shinyanga region

Direct entry Qualification
  • Holder of a Doctorate degree or MBCHB or its equivalent from a recognized institution specialized on maternal health and child survival .Must be registered by the Tanganyika medical council as a medical doctor with one year internship
  • Working experience with atleast 3 years in the related field will be an added advantage
  • Participating in conducting researches, baseline surveys and  field visits
  • Relevant further qualifications in medical consulting training
  • Skills and work experience
  • Ability to diagnose and proper treatment of suitable medication
  • High level of integrity and ability to work as part of professional team
  • Hard working and committed to the work given
  • High level competence and honestly of the work
  • Good command of English writing and spoken
Duties and responsibilities
  • To ensure quality treatment and care in project sites for women and children
  • Perform consultation of women/children
  • Educate women ,community on different issues related to maternal health
  • Participate in different data collection studies for the improvement of the project
  • Referral of serious or unmanageable cases to high level of facilities
  • Strengthening linkages to community health services in line with the national health system
  • Provide the technical oversight and assistant of the MCH project for addressing the project goals in overall program strategy
  • Support the program to develop work plans for advocacy and technical activities such as workshops and trainings
  • Maintain effective project reporting ,evaluation and communication systems, submit timely accurate and professional project reports that meet donor requirement
  • Manage and ensure project expenses are reasonable, allocate spend within the approves spending level in accordance with donor rules and regulations to ensure clean audits
  • Carry out additional responsibilities and projects as assigned including administrative and planning functions
  • Any other duties assigned by Managing Director
