Legal Advisor at Farm Africa

Legal Advisor at Farm Africa
We are looking for an outstanding qualified legal professional with proven experience in contract development and negotiation in a multi-stakeholder environment. You may arrive straight from practice or have already had some in-house experience. Experience within the development sector or in any of our countries of operation would be an added benefit, but is not essential.
Farm Africa has an ambitious strategy and business plan: by 2016 we are aiming to directly help 1.5 million people each year. To achieve that goal we need to push boundaries, to be creative with new and old solutions and work flexibly, taking advantage of the most effective solutions with communities, private sector, civil society and governments. This in turn is leading to an increase in organisational complexity and the need for in-house legal expertise.
Reporting to the Director of Resources and accessing pro-bono legal support where required you will provide high quality legal advice to senior staff members within the organisation ensuring we have effective legal contracts in place in an increasingly complex programmatic environment. You will be commercially astute with excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with changing priorities and manage a demanding workload within a part time context, creative in your approach to finding solutions whilst maintaining the attention to detail necessary to ensure these solutions are legally robust.
We are seeking to recruit someone on a part time basis (2 dpw). The timing of this is flexible and the work could be undertaken partly from home. In addition, the post holder will need to be able to undertake occasional travel to Africa (maximum three to four times per annum for four or five days at a time).
