Kiliwater Company limited is a non-profit Organization established in 1995, with the principal objective of providing clean and safe water to households and institutions in its area of operation. In the effort of improving its services and increase revenue, the Company wishes to recruit highly motivated, result oriented and suitably qualified candidates to fill 6 vacant positions of Water Distribution Technicians.
Water Distribution Technician II (2 POSTS)

In the effort of improving its services and increase revenue, the Company wishes to recruit highly motivated, result oriented and suitably qualified candidates to fill 6 vacant positions of Water Distribution Technicians.
Water Distribution Technician II (2 POSTS)
Skills and Attributes
Pro-active and team player.
Demonstrating ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively. Able to work under minimum supervision.
Duties and Responsibility
To construct new water lines, disconnect service lines and repair valves and water meters Performs skilled and semi-skilled works in operation and maintenance of water intakes. Keeps records of activities performed.
Reads water meters, inspects them for leakages and improper functioning and replace non function ones. Locates and marks water lines for new constnuctions.
Repairs broken water lines including transmission mains, distribution mains and service lines.
Cleans and maintains properties that are part of water system such as storage tanks and pump stations. Serves in emergency standby capacity, provides customer service and performs all aspect of distribution system maintenance and repairs during and after hours periods including holidays and weekends.
Appraises performance of his/her junior staff
Performs any other duties as he/she may be assigned by hislher superiors.
Qualification and experience
Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education CSE with VETA grade I in plumbing and pipefitting from reputable VETA institute.
Working experience of not less than 2 years from reputable organization Able to speak and write fluently in English and Kiswahili.
Valid driving license category A is an added advantage.
Should not be over 30 years of age.
Terms of service: 2 year renewable contract.
Salary: Negotiable with other fringe benefits.

Water Distribution Technician I (4 POSTS)
Skills and Attributes
Proactive, good communicator, team player and self motivated. Able to work under minimum supervision
Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as overall in charge of junior staff in their respective areas. Conducts on job training for his/her junior staff.
Prepares maps and diagrams of water pipelines
Assists in general water meters maintenance activities such as installation, removal and repairs.
Performs chemical treatments and chlorine residual checks at storage tanks, distribution system and water points.
Supervises customer water meter readings and submit the data for the preparation of customers' bills. Prepares demand for constnuction materials, pipes and fixtures required for repairs and maintenance of pipelines. Responds to questions and concerns from general public regarding water services issues, and provide information as appropriate
Establishes and maintain a positive working relationship with representatives of Village Water Committees, Government or local agencies.
To make regular checks in water intakes and treatment plants to ensure proper operations. Performs general preventive and maintenance of water pipelines and stnuctures.
Creates, Reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures of water supply scheme. Contributes to the development of performance measurement of his/her junior staff. Assists in preparing and monitoring operating, maintenance and capital budgets.
Perform any other duties as he/she may be assigned by hislher superiors.
Qualification and Experience
Holder of full Technician Certificate in Civil Engineering (FTC) or Diploma in Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering.
Working knowledge of proper water works plumbing methods and techniques. Computer literate.
Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English Language Valid driving license is an added advantage.
Should not be over 30 years of age.
Terms of service: 2 year contract renewable. Salary scale: Negotiable with other fringe benefits.
