The Association has a long history of leadership in SRH program in the country including pioneering in Family planning (FP) services, SRHR programs for young people, integrated clinic and Community based service delivery approaches. Accredited by IPPF In 2011 UMATI is governed by a well established volunteer structure.
UMATI vision envisages a healthy Tanzanian society where all people, especially the young, exercise their rights to, and enjoy quality sexual and reproductive health, information and services and have the confidence and capacities to make a meaningful contribution to sustainable livelihoods. To meet this vision, UMATI is dedicated to improving the quality of life of all people, particularly the young through its programs, targeting youth aged from 10 to 24 years.
UMATI believes in and advocates for the right to informed choice for all and strives to ensure that the community has access to information and high-quality SRH services. With its national coverage, providing services in urban and rural communities, UMATI has a network of Clinics, Youth Centers and a large number of about 1,500 Community Based Service Providers (CBSPs)and a very close working relationship with the Government, Development partners, NGOs and the Communities.

National Youth Coordinator (1 post)
1.1 Reporting to: Director of Program
1.2 location: Dar as Salaam
1.3 Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the National Youth Coordinator is responsible for improvement of structures and systems for youth empowerment with specific emphasis on fostering sexual and reproductive health information and services; and to identify and share information and application of good practices so as to broaden the national youth development agenda.
1.4 Responsibilities:
• Ensuring development, planning, implementing and administering of countrywide youth programs with accountability for the overall delivery results
• Network building, initiation and maintenance of key partnerships and resource mobilization for youth programs
• Supporting the Association in establishing and maintaining effective
consultations with national and local counterparts including but not limited to MoHSW, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, local authorities, local NGOs, partners, stakeholders and donors to achieve active collaboration, cooperation and alliances on youth development
• Ensuring the design and establishment of an effective and results-oriented monltonng and evaluation system, that allows periodic monitoring of the projects' results, performance, achievements, risks and challenges
• Ensuring timely and adequate reporting against the work plan, including providing timely and articulate progress reports
• Ensuring Integrity of financial and administrative operations in the program area by oversight of financial and budgetary aspects of the projects
• Ensuring a strict and consistent application of UMATI UMATI Values and according to relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Recruit, train and oversee volunteers
• Ensuring knowledge building and management on youth
• Perfonm other related duties as required
1.5 QualificationslExperience Requirements:
Advanced University Degree in Political SCience, Sociology, Community Development Social work, Public Administration or any other related field.
At least three (3) years experience working with Youth, (Volunteering or mentoring management desirable)
1.6 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proven networking, team-building, organizational and communication skills
• Capacity to work under pressure, manage stress and adapt to rapidly evolving situations
Knowledge of the legislation, regulations, policies and procedures forprogram development
• Possession of cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Proficient in computer packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Graphics and Internet browsers
