The Resource Mobilisation Associate will report to the Senior Director - Resource Mobilisation, Europe and provides support to the implementation of IAVI's resource mobilisation strategy in Europe. The activities of this position include providing administrative, information and grant management support to ensure and maintain high standards of donor stewardship of the Europe portfolio as well as the efficient operation of the team, in addition to contributing/supporting efforts to research and explore new opportunities for resource mobilisation. Specifically, the RM Associate will be responsible for the effective tracking, data collection/analysis and other RM-related information management and documentation in addition to supporting donor relations and grant management across the donor portfolio, and providing inputs to the development of proposals and other donor-focused communication materials. The RM Associate will also provide support to the organisation of RM activities, including donor meeting(s) and other events related to current and prospective donors.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
· In collaboration with RM colleagues, provide inputs to identification, research and analysis of donor policies, funding and other information to maintain RM intelligence gathering, tracking and monitoring of donor priorities and strategies for current and new funding, including maintenance of donor knowledge sites (DonorCentral) and through participating in selected Country Teams.
· Produce reports, briefings, donor profiles, presentations and other materials for European donor portfolio in line with IAVI RM and/or Europe workplan and strategic priorities.
· In collaboration with RM Europe colleagues, support European donor contracts/grant management (including reporting), and coordinate European inputs to internal tracking systems and databases for contractual and compliance requirements (Sharepoint, DonorCentral/AwardCentral, CRM), also working in in coordination with IAVI colleagues in New York (e.g. IT, Finance).
· In collaboration with communications and advocacy colleagues, act as point person for coordinating RM Europe contributions to printed and electronic documents for external use (e.g. donor e-newsletter).
· Support – and contribute, where appropriate - to the preparation and submission of timely, comprehensive, and accurate proposals and concept notes for European donors.
· Provide support to the coordination and organisation of key events/meetings with donors, working closely with colleagues from other teams or departments, as appropriate.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills
§ Undergraduate level degree essential – and in a relevant field preferable (e.g. social or biological sciences, international development studies etc), or equivalent qualification(s).
§ Minimum 3 years' work experience in business intelligence or research and/or in a health-care, science or educational organisation.
§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to produce high quality materials, reports or proposals in English.
§ Confident and organised self-starter with a strong eye for detail and the ability to take initiative as new situations and opportunities arise. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and respond to a complex and changing workload and to produce high quality work under challenging deadlines.
§ Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively in teams with others from a range of disciplines and cultures.
§ Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably with some experience in using database management or other systems for tracking resources.
§ Demonstrable skills in working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), notably in spreadsheet development
§ Understanding of or affinity for international development/global health and/or HIV/AIDS would be an asset.
§ Proficiency in other European languages would be an advantage.
Working Conditions
The post will be based in Amsterdam, with some potential but limited travel in Europe.
Salary indication
€ 35.000 – € 40.000 based on full-time employment.
Final salary depending on experience and match of candidate's profile to the job profile.
